Prior to becoming a freelancer in 1995, Roxanne was marketing manager for Transition Systems, Inc. (TSI), a Boston-based financial and clinical decision support software company. Before joining TSI, she was director of marketing for Medical Diagnostics, Inc., a provider of MRI services throughout New England. She also has served as associate director of public relations for Boston University and, before that, as director of communications for the Massachusetts Medical Society (publishers of the New England Journal of Medicine).
Since going on her own, Roxanne has written for a variety of healthcare clients including tertiary medical centers, community hospitals, medical device manufacturers, medical and managed care software firms, pharmaceutical companies, imaging centers, travel nurse agencies and health industry consultants. Her portfolio includes feature articles, newsletters, web content, brochures, advertising, fundraising materials, annual reports, press kits and news releases.
She also has served as a contributing editor for Palm Springs Life magazine, and as editor of its sister publication, Palm Desert. Both are upscale lifestyle publications for which Roxanne has written a variety of feature articles, including those related to health and medicine.
Roxanne’s writing has won awards from the Advertising Club of Greater Boston, the Publicity Club of New England, the Business/Professional Advertising Association, the Direct Marketing Association, the Rx Club, the American Advertising Federation and the New England Society for Healthcare Communications.
She is a member of the board of directors of the New England Society for Healthcare Communications, and a member of the Maine Public Relations Council.
